Life is Full of Mid-Term Exams

Well, school has been in session now for several weeks and at the mid-term comes a time of testing. If only school would not include exams, but exams have a real purpose. This gives the teacher a chance to see if you are even learning what is being taught and are you retaining what you should be learning. I guess everything in life has its purpose if we like it or not. One day you will graduate, if it be from high school or college and then it will be off to the real world, doing a real job, one that you will want to retire from. You may not be thinking that far ahead, but life goes by faster than we would like it to.  A good paying job helps fulfil those hopes and dreams. Maybe you think that you are not smart enough to get a job that will fulfill those dreams. Well, sometimes dreams have got to be trimmed down a bit and sometimes dreams are not realistic at all, but without a goal to achieve you will not achieve anything. Start small and let it grow as you go along. This is where the mid-terms come into play. One should always stop and look at where they are in life. What have I learned about life at fifteen or even twenty five. As you get older you may find that you are thinking more and more about the future, a house, a spouse, children. Maybe today you say no way. But as time comes and goes, people usually always change their thinking about things. Everyone has to stop and think and examine their lives. Don’t ever let people tell you that you have no value. Maybe you are not using your talent and ability in the correct way but everyone has worth and that value must be spent on something of value. We all fall short at times but if we do not keep going forward then we are going backwards and that only leads to destruction. Today, take a midterm test and examine your life. Do I have goals? Am I moving toward those goals? Do I need to evaluate my goals, maybe they are not realistic or maybe I need to expand them? Sometimes it’s the crowd we hang with. If they bring you down then move on, but if they encourage you to do right then take their encouragement. Remember, a life of crime only leads to destruction. A life filled with lies only leads to destruction. If you cheat on a mid-term exam that only leads to disqualification. Well, it is the same in life. There have been many, many people who grew up in a poor neighborhood or had terrible grades in school and they grew up to be somebody, somebody special. Learn the lessons that your teacher is teaching because one and one does equal two. You and determination do equal a winning life.  There have been many things written about wisdom, which is nothing more than knowledge and understanding. “Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it costs all you have, get understanding.” Proverbs 4:6-7 Today, stop and evaluate your life. Take a mid-term test and see if you pass, if not, then you are not learning the lessons about life.
