We make buying things so easy today. We use our charge cards or debit cards. We purchase things online so we do not even have to go out to a store to buy them. We have truly isolated ourselves from the madding crowd. We even work online so we do not have to deal with our co-workers. Today so many people have become isolationists. After being quarantined because of Covid, people did not want to go out to shop or even to work. They became used to sitting around in their lounging clothes. The trouble with all of this is that people have lost their self-worth. We have marginalized ourselves. The greatest side effect of the pandemic is we lost our self worth. Without other people we have no value. We lost our belonging, our place in society. You see, there is great value in waking up in the morning to a new day, a fresh start. There is great value in speaking to one another, no texting is not hearing another voice. We are social creatures and when we remove ourselves from that scenario, we are now left with a void within us. Then there are those who are mean and cruel and they diminish us and humiliate us. So why would we want to be around people? Yes, there are some things money can not buy and that is self-worth. Self-worth is the value that we put on ourselves. It is the love that we have for ourselves and the love of belonging to others. Life is a journey and on this journey we find many ups and downs, many hills and valleys, even mountains that we must climb.
There is a song called, “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus. It goes like this, “There’s always gonna be another mountain. I’m always gonna wanna make it move always gonna be an uphill battle. Sometimes I’m gonna have to lose. Ain’t about how fast I get there. Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side. It’s the climb. The struggles I’m facing. The chances I’m taking Sometimes might knock me down, but No, I’m not breaking.”
Get back into society. Get back into living. Living is not partying or running here or there. You see that is what happens when you do not have self-worth…you run! Go to school. Go to work. Be part of the family you were born in, even find your Creator, this is what will give you self-worth, this is what gives value to your life, not hiding behind a computer, or texting, because you do not want to talk to people. Even our struggles give us self-worth because from our struggles we get victory. Yes, there are some things that money can not buy and that is self-worth.
Self -worth is an equal opportunity feeling, it is for those who have and those who do not have, it is for those who are in the click and those who are not. Self-worth is given by God and only you can accept it. You are unique because there is only one of you and without you there is a void in society that will never be filled.

Excellent resource. I’ll definitely be coming back for more articles like this.
