Not even half of the population of teens attend church services these days.
Maybe it is because so few people in general attend services today. Years ago the whole family would go to church. So why not church? Is it because we think that going to church is old fashioned? Or maybe God’s Word is not relevant today? Maybe it is just because we find more amusement on social media or video games that we just don’t have time to go to church. Could it be that we don’t believe in heaven and hell? Whatever the reason is, the question is what does God think about it? First, every city and state and government has its laws, so why not God? Second, if there is a heaven and hell, and we meet the requirements of one or another, then that is where we will go one day? We can say all we want, “that there is no God, there is no heaven or hell, there is no judgment day, whatever we want to think to justify our lives, but is it the truth? Can you take the chance? Do you want to take such a gamble on eternity? Jews, Christians, and even Muslims, all believe that Jesus existed. That’s a good start. Maybe you used to believe, but your friends, or even things you may read or hear tell you something different. Maybe your parents still go to church and they even may want you to go with them, the question is why not? You may think that you are making up your own mind, but is that even true? Maybe you are just being persuaded. You know that commercials, and even teachers, and TV programs, have alluded to the fact that your parents really don’t understand you, or they don’t even understand what is going on today in the world. You see, the world is full of enemies. There are enemies that you do not even see, and yet they fill your mind and thoughts with lies to control you, and to forward their agenda. You may laugh at that, but are you absolutely sure that it is not true? There is good and evil in this world and it has been here since the beginning of time. Only today we call evil good, and good evil. A prophet over 3,000 years ago who said this,
Isaiah 5:20-21, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight!”
Another man said this over 2,000 years ago in 1 Timothy 3:1-4, “But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.”
Don’t we see this going on today? Things that used to be good and right are now deemed old fashioned or even corrupt and the people today have so much more wisdom than all the people who took us forward from the beginning of time. I wonder how we made it thus far. How did they build the great pyramids, and how did they know about the galaxies and stars and planets, and even the ability to go from one side of the world to the other? You see you can not deny everything, some things are right and true. History has been built upon the shoulders of those who went before them, and truth has been carried with them, and civilization has become more knowledgeable, because of the mistakes of those who went before them. Life did not start in the 21st Century. No, evil is still evil, and good is still good, and do not let anyone tell you differently. God is real, and so is the devil, and God’s Word is eternal if you want to believe it or not. The choice is still yours to make, and the outcome is still yours to live. But with so much at stake, I would do some investigating and study history. You will see that God’s Word is in the middle of it all.
