I’m sure you have heard that there is only one of you.
We all have different fingerprints. We were all born into different situations.
Our DNA is unique to each one of us. Even twins can be different in many ways.
So what you do in life is really important, because it affects everyone. Maybe you may become a dentist or a scientist or an engineer. Maybe you will discover a cure for some disease or help society regarding poverty. Who knows what you may become. Maybe you will raise your family and do nothing more than that. It is all important and it all has value. What is important is that you stick to it. That you have perseverance despite difficulties or failure or oppression. Perseverance builds character. This is what’s important in life, your character, because it speaks about who you are, to have that determination to keep going forward, that you don’t quit because of obstacles or indifference or even ridicule. Everyone encounters these things in life no matter what you find yourself doing.
You can not wither or melt or fall back. You are capable of going forward in the face of adversity because you are you. Each person has a purpose in life, and no one else can accomplish what you need to accomplish in life but you. It is your mission, and no one else’s. You are unique in that way. We can not tell others what they need to do in life, because it is their life to live. We can make suggestions or even give our opinion, but each person was given life for a purpose. You have to ask yourself, “What is my purpose?” God told the prophet Jeremiah this when people were lying and causing problems for him, “For I know the plans I have for you”, says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. You will find Me when you seek Me, if you look for me in earnest.”
The psalmist writes this about God. “How precious it is, Lord, to realize that you are thinking about me constantly! I can’t even count how many times a day your thoughts turn toward me. And when I waken in the morning, you are still thinking of me!”
God knows you. He knows your thoughts. We are His workmanship created to do good, and every day of our lives has been recorded in His book. God has given to each person gifts and talents and abilities and when we put what we have together with others we can accomplish good as well as bad. So we must protect how we use our God given talents. This is character, to do what is good in the face of evil. This separates you from others, when you do not run with the crowd to do evil. This says that your life is worth more when you do good, rather than evil when your life is helping others, when you know that you are accomplishing the plans that God has for you. Then you have done great things in this world, even if it is a small thing. God will reward you one day, because you have accomplished the plans He had for you.
